GRIMSTAGER in a mix
The idea
Built with Chernobyl Audio
GRIMSTAGER is the newest addition to the STAGER lineup, made in collaboration with Scott from Chernobyl Audio. The brief was simple: take SVARTRUNA and extend it further, with heaps of extra pedals and distortion possibilities in front of it. Every chain comes right off Scott's own shelf — exactly what he reaches for when he is dialling a guitar tone.
The chains
20 chains. Real pedals.
Twenty different chains built from some of the nastiest boosts, drives, distortions and pedal combinations going — a collection drawn from Maxon, Boss, Lichtlaerm Audio, Klirrton and more. Not one drive with a tone knob, but the actual combinations a black metal producer runs in front of an amp.
The control
Colder. More cutting. More mid-forward.
Every chain is geared specifically for black metal, so if your idea of a nice guitar tone involves words like cold, vicious, filthy, hostile, necro and grinding, this one is aimed squarely at you. Want it colder? More cutting? More mid-forward? Pick a chain and go. And while it was built to pair with SVARTRUNA, GRIMSTAGER runs in front of any amp simulator you like.
What you get
